PhoneSmart Call Center Hits 900k Reservation Milestone

PhoneSmart, a call center for the self-service storage industry, has hit a new milestone. The company announced that it has reached its 900,000th storage reservation.

The figure was reached on Tuesday morning, when the firm took a reservation for a storage unit at StorageMart self storage center in Lake Charles, Louisiana. PhoneSmart provides call center sales and reservation services for more than 100 client companies and more than 800 individual properties in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The company landed its first lead reservation in December 2000, and has released some figures to showcase how quickly it has grown in the years since.

It took around 11 months to go from the 600,000th to 700,000th reservation, and the same amount of time to add another 100,000 reservations to the total. However, it took the company less time to go from 800,000 reservations to 900,000, having taken nine months to do so.

PhoneSmart was named the winner of the first Inside Self Storage Award for Best Call Center in September. It topped a poll of more than 1,000 readers to beat 12 other candidates to the accolade.

The company was founded in the fall of 2000 to provide reservation and sales services for its parent firm StorageMart. It also provides off-site sales support to other firms in the self-storage and property management industries.

Meanwhile, back in August, the company offered a webinar where it gave self-storage facility owners and managers to gain training and insight on sales techniques. The aim was to help those owners and managers improve their sales conversion rates.
