According to Gale, the accepting NewVoiceMedia into the G-Cloud ii program was a clear indication that the U.K. Government was encouraging businesses to utilize cloud technology. This in turn will transform the public sector and allow faster and broader adoption of cloud services.
A statement issued by the Cabinet Office indicates that this indeed is true. In the first eight months of operation, there were 99 purchases of IT services through the G-Cloud’s ‘CloudStore, of which70 percent was with small and medium-sized enterprises.
G-Cloud ii currently offers 3,000 services from 458 IT suppliers.
