Working from home offers the greatest flexibility to almost every worker. These jobs help employees to get the best of both worlds - have an income and at the same time, stay home to take care of the kids. Unfortunately, since the benefits of working from home are great, and the trend is picking up steam, it has also given rise to a lot of scams. Therefore, it’s important for people who opt for this kind of work to be able to distinguish the genuine jobs from the hoaxes.
Though there are many work-from-home jobs, the most popular five jobs are explained below.
1. Virtual Assistant
In this role, you are expected to perform a range of different tasks such as replying to e-mails, sending thank-you notes on behalf of an executive, presenting data, handling social media, scheduling meetings, booking tickets and copy writing or editing content for e-mails. The exact task depends on the company. The schedule is variable and the pay for these jobs ranges anywhere from $5 to $20 per hour.

2. English as a Second Language (ESL) Tutor
This position gives you a chance to teach English to those who are looking to come to the U.S. or other English-speaking countries for work or studies. The time commitment and schedules vary with each project and typical pay is around $20 to $40 an hour.
3. Web Search Evaluators
This is an interesting position, in which you conduct searches on a particular search engine and then inform designated companies if the results matched your expectations. Google and Bing use this information to validate their algorithms. The pay for this position is around $13 to $15 an hour and time commitment is typically a few hours every day.
4. Legal Transcriptionist
As a legal transcriptionist, you have to listen to audio files and write down what you hear. This does not require any certification, but requires a good knowledge of English. Pay is usually around $20 for every hour of audio.
5. Virtual Call Center Worker
This position is perfect for anyone who loves to interact with others. However, this requires a complete commitment to work and it cannot be multitasked with kids and other household work. The pay ranges from $9 to $12 an hour.
If you are looking for work-from-home jobs, you should stay away from anything that asks you to pay money upfront for training fees or for buying products.
