The capabilities afforded through the cloud give today’s business access to features and solutions that were once only available to the larger competitors. The challenge for many, however, is accepting the idea that managing data in the cloud is safe and efficient. To address this challenge, vendors have to take on the role of consultant and educate the client.
Fulfilling this role of provider and educator can be a challenge if the vendor lacks the right cloud partners. As a reseller, their role is to represent the cloud brand effectively, while also understanding the challenges these individual companies faces so as to meet them head-on. It’s an interesting balance, but one easily accomplished when the reseller finds the right partner.
One worth considering is Tier 3, a public cloud infrastructure and cloud management platform provider. The company recently announced that it has been positioned by Gartner in its 2013 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service. The quadrant is a complete analysis of how Gartner views particular vendors when measuring them against specific criteria for the marketplace.
Tier 3 continues to focus its efforts on ensuring the enterprise is able to expand cloud usage in order to include mission-critical applications. In other words, the provider is enabling these companies to overcome initial obstacles that kept them from trusting a migration to the cloud completely. Mission-critical applications are often the last shift for those who are on the fence. Tier 3 is giving them the tools they need to effectively make that final move. As a result, they are able to fully realize the benefits of cloud computing.
“The cloud is about so much more than fast and easy access to computing resources. The true benefits are in automating the mundane tasks that preoccupy most IT departments today, thereby liberating staff to help transform the business,” said Jared Wray, founder and CTO at Tier 3 in a press release. “As we believe Gartner’s analysis makes clear, enterprise organizations are becoming smarter about how they leverage cloud resources to improve agility and better align IT with the business.”
As Tier 3 remains on the forefront of empowering companies to embrace the cloud and the capabilities it offers, the company also understands the challenges and opportunities afforded the reseller. To help guide the reseller in selecting the right cloud partner, Tier 3 is working in conjunction with Network Packet Broker to offer a free webinar: Calling All Resellers: How to Choose the Best Cloud Partner for Your Business in Four Easy Steps.
